Many fans have praised Emily Barker’s new album A Dark Murmuration of Words as her best yet. Recorded in Wales with producer Greg Freeman in late 2019, it hit #1 on the UK Americana Album chart on its release in September and garnered widespread critical acclaim.
If there’s one thing we can thank the pandemic for, it’s that here at Roots Live we get to host the first live performance of the album. Emily will perform the whole of A Dark Murmuration of Words together with all the musicians who appeared on it: Lukas Drinkwater (bass, guitar and vocals), Rob Pemberton (drums, synths, percussion and vocals), Pete Roe (keys, guitar and vocals), Misha Law (viola) and Emily Hall (violin).
Emily will also play a special VIP solo aftershow set with requests from fans – see ticket options above for details.
N.B. The VIP aftershow performance will be taking place here and upgrades for standard ticket purchasers are available on that page,
Please note that this event is earmarked as GOING AHEAD under the new national restrictions starting Thursday 5th November. After reviewing the government guidelines we are confident that this stream can go ahead under the new rules outlined by the government at the week commencing 2nd November. The event will go ahead socially distanced with no audience.
